Town Life Magazine Celebrates 26th Anniversary

White Bear Lake, Minnesota – Town Life Magazine, a quarterly magazine tailored to the White Bear Lake area, is celebrating its 26th Anniversary. The hometown magazine is published by journalist and history book author, Catherine Carey.

Town Life provides families with well-written and beautifully-photographed articles about local people, arts and entertainment, history, education, recreation and nature in addition to colorful cartoons and community news and events. All of the writers and artists in the magazine are from White Bear.

Over the past 26 years, Town Life has featured fascinating pieces by the late Sen. Paul Wellstone, former Gov. Jesse Ventura, University of Minnesota History Teacher JB Andersen and White Bear Schools Superintendent Dr. Wayne Kazmierczak as well as Children’s Book Author/Illustrator David LaRochelle,
Cartoonist Paul Dillery and Children’s Corner Artist Noelle Dahlen.

Ten thousand families receive Town Life within their local newspaper in addition to purchasing the magazine via subscription or at Lake Country Booksellers in White Bear Lake. Additional copies are available at Ramsey County Library-White Bear Lake, White Bear Township Offices and City of White Bear Lake Offices.

In 2008, Carey was commissioned to research, write and design White Bear: A History to celebrate the 150th Anniversary of White Bear Township. The award-winning history book takes the reader from the frontier days to today while telling the stories of extraordinary White Bear families whose inventiveness and accomplishments were limited only by the scope of their imaginations. The remarkable history includes tales about Humorist Mark Twain, Sculptor Paul Manship, Author F. Scott Fitzgerald, Outlaw Ma Barker, Hero James Root and Explorer Gerry Spiess. The history book, which is in Ramsey County Library-White Bear Lake, can be purchased at Lake Country Booksellers, White Bear Township Offices or White Bear Lake Area Historical Society.
